Withdrawal Record

Overview

The Withdrawal Record is a single withdrawal on its own screen. It shows what you asked for, where it is going, and how far it has got.

A withdrawal is a request that is settled by an authorised Settlement Provider and then verified, rather than a transfer that happens the moment you confirm it. This is the screen to return to while that happens.

You can reach it from the withdrawal history beneath the form on the Withdraw screen at any time.

What You Can See

Asset and amount
What you are withdrawing and how much, as fixed when you confirmed.
Destination
The verified external address the funds are going to.
Reference
The withdrawal's own identifier, assigned when the request was created. Quote it if you need to ask about the withdrawal.
Status and stage
Where the withdrawal has got to. A withdrawal moves through Submitted, Finding Settlement Provider, Settlement in Progress and Confirming on the destination blockchain before it reaches Completed. A withdrawal that could not be settled shows Refunded instead, with the reason alongside it. Each stage is explained under Withdraw.

Before You Begin

  • The withdrawal reference, if you are looking for a specific one.
  • Nothing else — this screen is for checking, not for entering.

How to Use This Screen

  1. Open the withdrawal, either by continuing from Withdraw after confirming or by selecting it from your records.
  2. Check the asset and amount match what you intended.
  3. Check the destination address is the one you meant to use.
  4. Read the status to see which stage the withdrawal has reached.
  5. Note the reference if you need to follow the withdrawal up later.
  6. Return to the screen when you want to check again — the status updates as the withdrawal progresses.

What Happens Next

The withdrawal advances to Completed once a Settlement Provider has sent the native asset to your verified address and UNIT has verified that payment on the destination blockchain. Until then the status tells you which part of that sequence is under way.

If the withdrawal cannot be settled, it shows Refunded and your wrapped asset is returned to your wallet.

Your balance on the Wallet Overview reflects the withdrawal, and the withdrawal appears in History.

Tips

  • Keep the reference. It is the quickest way to identify a specific withdrawal.
  • Check the destination address on this screen against the address at the receiving end before you chase a withdrawal that seems slow.
  • Read the status before assuming a withdrawal is stuck. Waiting for a Settlement Provider and waiting for blockchain confirmations are different waits, and the status distinguishes them.
  • Remember that arriving at your external wallet takes the receiving chain's confirmation time on top of UNIT's settlement.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should a withdrawal take?
Two things decide it: how quickly a Settlement Provider takes your request on, and how long the destination blockchain takes to confirm the payment. The status shows which of the two you are waiting for.
Why does the withdrawal say it is still being settled?
Confirming a withdrawal creates a request rather than sending the funds. An authorised Settlement Provider sends the native asset, and UNIT verifies that payment before the withdrawal is marked Completed.
What does Refunded mean?
The withdrawal could not be settled, so your wrapped asset has been returned to your wallet. The reason is shown separately from the status.
What does the reference number do?
It identifies this withdrawal. Use it when you need to refer to a specific one.
Where do I find an older withdrawal?
In History, which holds the complete record for your account.

Troubleshooting

The record has not updated
The status advances as the withdrawal progresses, and a request can sit at one stage for a while. A withdrawal showing Submitted or Finding Settlement Provider has been accepted and is waiting to be taken on; one showing Settlement in Progress or Confirming on a blockchain is already being settled.
The funds have not arrived at my external wallet
Check the record shows Completed first. If it does, the delay is on the receiving chain or at the receiving service, and the destination address on this record is what to quote when asking them.
The destination address is not the one I expected
Check which of your verified addresses was selected. Manage your addresses in Digital Assets.
