Deposit Record

Overview

The Deposit Record is a single deposit on its own screen. It tells you exactly what to send and where to send it, and it is where you follow the deposit while the other chain confirms it.

You arrive here after generating a deposit address, and you can return to it at any time from the deposit history on the Deposit screen.

An illustration of this screen will be added in a later revision of the guide. The explanation below describes the screen as it is used.

What You Can See

Progress bar
The same five stages as the Deposit screen, now showing Address with Details complete. It advances as your deposit is detected and confirmed.
Send exactly
The precise amount to send, with an approximate value beneath it and a Copy control. Send this amount, not a rounded version of it.
Deposit address
The address to send to, with its own Copy control. It is specific to this deposit.
QR code
The same address as a code you can scan from the wallet you are sending from.
Network warning
A prominent line naming the only asset and network this address accepts, and warning that sending anything else may permanently lose the funds.
Transaction Hash (optional)
Where you can paste the reference from your external transfer. It helps locate your deposit sooner if automatic detection is delayed; detection continues whether or not you fill it in.
I have sent the deposit
Tells UNIT you have made the transfer and moves the deposit to the awaiting stage.
Cancel Deposit
Abandons the deposit. Use it only if you have not sent anything.

Before You Begin

  • The wallet or exchange you are sending from, open and ready.
  • Enough balance there to cover the exact amount plus that chain's own fee.
  • The transaction hash, if you have already sent and want the deposit matched sooner.

How to Use This Screen

  1. Read the network warning and confirm the asset and network match what you are about to send.
  2. Select Copy beside Send exactly to copy the amount.
  3. Select Copy beside the deposit address, or scan the QR code from your external wallet.
  4. Paste the address into your external wallet and check the first and last few characters match.
  5. Enter the exact amount and send the transfer on the network named.
  6. Copy the transaction reference from your external wallet.
  7. Paste it into the Transaction Hash field. This step is optional.
  8. Select I have sent the deposit. The deposit moves to Awaiting.
  9. Leave the screen if you wish. The deposit continues, and you can reopen it from the deposit history whenever you want to check.

Returning to this record later

  1. Open Deposit from the Wallet.
  2. Find the deposit in the history table beneath the form — use its deposit number and date.
  3. Select the row to reopen this record at its current stage.

What Happens Next

The deposit moves from Awaiting to Confirming once your transfer is detected, and then to Completed. The wrapped asset is credited to your wallet at completion and appears on the Wallet Overview.

The deposit's status is also shown against its row in the deposit history, so you can check on it without opening the record.

Tips

  • Copy, never retype. Both the amount and the address are copyable for a reason.
  • Keep the deposit number. It is how you find this record again.
  • Add the transaction hash if your deposit seems slow — it is the one thing on this screen that can speed matters up.
  • Only cancel a deposit you have not sent. Cancelling does not recall a transfer already made.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I send a slightly different amount?
Open the record and add the transaction hash so your transfer can be matched to this deposit.
Can I use the same address again for a second deposit?
Start a new deposit instead. Each deposit is created with its own record and its own instruction.
What does the deposit number mean?
It is the reference for this deposit. Use it to find the record in your deposit history.
Do I have to keep this screen open?
No. The deposit continues regardless, and the record can be reopened from the deposit history.

Troubleshooting

The record has not updated yet
Deposits advance when the external chain confirms them, which takes as long as that chain takes. Adding the transaction hash helps.
I closed the screen before sending
Reopen the deposit from the history table on the Deposit screen. The address and amount are still there.
I sent to the address but used a different network
Check the network warning on the record to confirm which network was expected. A transfer sent on another network may not be recoverable.
